Old2New ("we," "us," or "our") is a recipe transformation service operated from Arizona, United States. We help you reimagine your favorite comfort recipes into healthier alternatives. Our website is old2new.app and you can reach us at admin@old2new.app.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: Email address and password (hashed) when you create an account.
- Recipe data: Recipes and transformation preferences you submit to the app.
- Usage data: Number of recipe transformations used, subscription plan, and feature interactions.
- Payment information: Billing details processed securely by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Device & log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and pages visited, collected automatically via server logs and Google Analytics.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and personalize the Old2New service, including personalized recipe transformations.
- Manage your account, subscription, and usage quotas.
- Process payments and send receipts.
- Send transactional emails (e.g., account confirmation, password reset).
- Improve the Old2New service using aggregated, anonymized usage data.
- Respond to support requests and communications.
- Comply with applicable laws and protect against fraud or abuse.
4. AI Processing — Third-Party AI Providers
Old2New uses artificial intelligence to generate recipe transformations. Recipes, ingredient substitutions, nutritional estimates, and related suggestions are generated by the Anthropic Claude AI API. When you submit a recipe, the recipe content you enter is transmitted to Anthropic's servers solely to provide the transformation you request. Anthropic's use of this data is governed by their Privacy Policy. We do not share your account identity with Anthropic — only the recipe content is transmitted.
Recipe images are generated by the OpenAI API. A text description derived from your transformed recipe is sent to OpenAI's servers to create the image; your account identity is not shared. OpenAI's use of this data is governed by their Privacy Policy.
AI-generated content can contain errors or omissions and should not be relied upon as factual or error-free. Review all recipes — including ingredients, allergens, cooking instructions, and nutritional information — before cooking. See our Terms of Service for the full AI content and medical disclaimers.
5. Data Storage — Supabase
Your account data, saved recipes, and transformation history are stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database. Supabase is SOC 2 Type II compliant and stores data in secure, encrypted environments. For more information, see Supabase's Privacy Policy.
6. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Anthropic — to process recipe transformations via the Claude API.
- OpenAI — to generate recipe images from recipe descriptions.
- Supabase — to store and manage your account and recipe data.
- Stripe — to process subscription payments securely.
- Google Analytics — to collect aggregated usage statistics that help us understand how the service is used.
- Law enforcement or regulators — if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.
7. Subscription Plans & Data
Old2New offers the following subscription tiers:
- Free — 5 recipe transformations per month, at no charge. Promotional or beta periods may temporarily include additional free transformations.
- Plus — $14.99/month, 50 recipe transformations per month.
- Premium — $24.99/month, 150 recipe transformations per month.
Usage counts reset at the start of each billing cycle. Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe and is subject to their privacy practices.
8. Cookies & Local Storage
We use browser local storage and session cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We use Google Analytics to understand how the service is used; Google Analytics sets cookies and collects device and usage information as described in Google's Privacy Policy. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
9. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., dispute resolution, fraud prevention).
10. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and personal data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing activities.
- Data portability (receive your data in a machine-readable format).

11. Children's Privacy
Old2New is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
12. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls on our database. No system is 100% secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at admin@old2new.app.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, notify you by email or an in-app notice. Your continued use of Old2New after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
